Sicilian immigrant Guiseppe Ruffino is said to
have made muffuletta bread in the French Quarter around 1900. His son ran Union Bakery on St. Claude Avenue. The
bakery is now in the hands of Guiseppe's great-grandson, Sal LoGuidice.
