At 620 Decator St. "Jax"
began brewing beer in 1890. From 1919 -- 1933 (during Prohibition) it was operating under the name Jackson
Pure Products. The brewery produced Jax Beer (1933 - 1974), Sabana Beer (1934 - 1942), Jax Bock (1938 - 1966), 4 X Beer (1940
- 46), Tex Beer (1955 - 74), and Jax Draft (1965 - 70) among others. It produced the final beer in 1974.
