1999 - Marisol

Arguably a landmark restaurant, Marisol opened on January 12, 1999 at 437 Esplanade Avenue near the river when Chef Peter Vazquez brought his unique genius to the local culinary scene. Pete served only the choicest fresh ingredients (locally produced or flown from all parts of the world) with near reverential respect for their clarity of flavor. Vazquez deftly worked some magic and waved his wand and voila, it was wonderful.

Marisol officially announced its closing (after Hurricane Katrina) on February 27, 2006.
