1974 - 1975

Eldridge Leger (98 pounds) and Mike Ryan (145 pounds) won the LHSAA Division I State High School Wrestling Championship. Steve Speeg (185 pounds) placed 3rd

 

The Genesian Players produced When You Comin' Back Red Rider?, Fantasticks, Meet Me In St. Louis, Pryamus And Thysbe, The Bad Seed (Directed by Bob Roso), and 1776 Home 1976 during the academic year

Football

Don Perret led the Raiders to the state semifinals in 1974 

The final Sugar Bowl was played in Tulane Stadium on January 1, 1974

St. Charles Hotel at 211 St. Charles Avenue advertised in 1903 "The largest and one of the best hotels in the country. With accommodations for more than one thousand guests. Strictly fireproof. Famous for its promenade, palm gardens, Turkish Baths and other luxurious appointments." Sister school Archbishop Chapelle High School helds it Class of '73 Senor Prom there -- shortly before it was demolished in 1974 and replaced with one of the city's tallest buildings -- Place St. Charles later called the First NBC Center.
