ENDOWMENT TRUST FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
The fundraising was started by Brother
John Fairfax while he was serving as alumni director in 1994. Administered by the Rummel Alumni Association, Inc., Rummel
Alumni Endowment Trust Fund principle is set in a trust and the proceeds generated by that principle are distributed to worthy
Rummel students, on a yearly basis, in the form of a scholarship towards the cost of tuition. Because a family's needs
may change over the course of a student's enrollment, the scholarships are available to new, incoming students as well as
existing, qualified students.
Coach Ronnie Doyle was awarded the Louisiana Track and Field Coaches
Association Award in recognition as a founder of the organization as well as work in establishing and administrating the Southern
Track and Field Officials Association. During some 30 years at Rummel, Coach Doyle was known for producing powerful
athletes and for winning the state Championship in 1982.
Chad Boudreaux was the 100 pound State
Wrestling Champion. Craig Broulliette at 185 pounds was the State Runner-Up. Taking 4th place honors were Preston
Ritchie (112 pounds) and Brian Seghers (119 pounds).
The Genesian
Players produced The Nerd, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Once Upon A Mattress during the academic
year.
