NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 24. -- With the horses which have been running at the Suburban race track kept idle at McDonoughville, the doors to the gambling houses at Southport closed tight, and a ban placed upon the sale of lottery tickets. Jefferson Parish is just at present experiencing the quietest days it has shown in a very long time.
