Make a round hole in one slice of bread.
Butter all bread.
Place bread with hole and "hole" buttered side down in a hot pan.
Flip bread when toasted and add egg.
Add other slice of bread, buttered side down.
Add cheese, salt, and pepper.
Flip egg.
Cover until cheese partially melts then top the "cheese side" with the "egg side" and allow cheese to completely melt.
Cut and serve.
